Reebok has a knack for producing footwear collaborations that are nostalgic and/or extremely niche and one example of this is its partnership with the EAMES Office — the company tied to groundbreaking 20th-century American designers Charles and Ray Eames. The two parties first kicked off its partnership during Fall 2021 with the release of a four Club C colorways, and now they will be expanding their portfolio with Classic Leather offerings this Spring/Summer 2022.
Leo Gamboa — former Sr. Product Marketing Collaborations Manager at Reebok — was first to tease the two-piece pack that pays homages to EAMES ‘The Colouring Toy’ and ‘Rosewood’ works. The former pair is presented with a white leather base and angelic bottoms, and comes fitted with a plethora of toy figures throughout the entire upper in black outline. EAMES text replaces the customary Reebok logos on the mid-foot windows and the tongues comes styled with co-branded hits. Additionally, the insoles spell out “The Colouring Toy” to call out its direct reference.
The second pair takes a furniture-inspired approach as the uppers are completely covered in woodgrain patterns to emulate the aesthetic of EAMES’ signature Molded Plywood Lounge Chair. Solid notes of brown usher in more contrasting through the laces and bottoms, and the shoes come fitted with the same type of branding as its release sibling.
These are set to release sometime in the coming weeks via Reebok.
