Brr, it’s cold in here — there must be some Clovers in the atmosphere! Gabrielle Union and baby Kaavia rocked matching costumes just ahead of Halloween and, let’s just say, they officially brought it. The duo shared a sneak peek at their twinning Bring It On ensembles via Instagram on Sunday evening, and fans couldn’t get enough of Union sharing such a nostalgic piece of her history with her 11-month-old daughter.
In the 2000 cult classic Bring It On, Union played Isis, the captain of the East Compton Clovers cheer squad. So, it was a full-circle moment for Union in September when local sandwich shop Runza gifted baby Kaavia with a “Runza Clovers” outfit that mimicked the one her mom wore nearly two decades prior. Little did fans know then that Union would be breaking out her old Clovers uniform for a matching moment with her little girl just one month later.
On Sunday, the actress shared a series of photos and videos on Instagram showing her and Kaavia channeling some big Isis energy in matching cheer uniforms. Well, almost matching. The toddler’s top is emblazoned with “Runza” while her mom’s sports the original “Clovers” emblem. Union captioned the first series of photos, “Brought it. #CaliforniaLove.”

She then alluded to the Clovers signature cheer from the film, captioning the second series, “Ice Ice Ice… It’s COLD asf #BringItOn #CaliforniaLove.” She even spliced in a video from the beloved ’00 movie showing the cheer scene.

Could Union’s Bring It On tribute with her tiny cheertator be pointing toward a possible legacy sequel — aka a true follow-up to the original film? We wouldn’t rule anything out. In September, Union and Dunst appeared in the spring/summer 2020 Rodarte Collection Portrait Series. While they weren’t photographed together, the women both tweeted their photo and the other’s photo, joking that they “brought it.” Bring It On director Peyton Reed also retweeted the photos.
Not long after, Dunst appeared on The Kelly Clarkson Show, where she confirmed she’d be down to do a reboot. “Listen, if they wanted to make another movie, I would make another movie. Why not? It would be so fun,” she said, much to the delight of the audience.
Are we the only ones thinking Dunst and Union could 100 percent be moms with kids on the same cheer squad who join forces to help the squad make to Nationals? Baby Kaavia and Dunst’s son Ennis could totally make cameos as younger siblings and future members of the cheerocracy. Movie execs, the spirit stick is in your court.
