Game of Thrones star faces 6 weeks of recovery after debilitating injury

The stars of Game of Thrones might have had to grapple with fake, gory wounds for eight seasons, but one of the stars of the show has revealed that they’re facing weeks of recovery for a real-life injury.

In a post shared on Instagram, Lena Headey – who played the fearsome Cersei Lannister in the fantasy series – updated her fans on what’s going on in her life with a photo of her legs propped up on a chair.

On her right, she was wearing a cast that spanned from the top of her toes to her mid-calf, while her left foot was bare.

The 49-year-old also rested a couple of crutches on the seat, as she expressed her frustration over her injury in her caption.

‘F**k. 6 weeks. One Birk only. 😡,’ she wrote, as several of fans wished her a speedy recovery… in addition to suggesting how she could spend the time.

‘6 weeks, you could watch GOT from season 1-8 to pass the time 😜,’ one person commented.

Fellow Game of Thrones star Nathalie Emmanuel added: ‘Oh nooooo! Hope you have a speedy recovery!’

Thor star Jaimie Alexander added: ‘Oh no!!!! 🙈 sending you healing vibes. I’m so sorry 🙈🙈💛.’

Another person referenced one of Cersei’s most memorable scenes in the show, writing: ‘No walk of shame for you.’

Someone else pointed out Lena’s hot pink nail polish on her toenails, stating: ‘At least your toes are super cute! Speedy healing!’

Just a couple of days previously, Lena had posted a different picture of her legs on Instagram, with her right foot notably cast-free.

‘Half Calf,’ she captioned the snap, which showed her legs propped up on a chair while she wore socks and sandals.

The actress also added the hashtags ‘#ibizawasfun’, ‘#ididntgoanywhere’ and ‘#hotpotatosummer’ at the time.

Lena’s latest Instagram updates marked her first posts to her grid since February this year – so fans were understandably excited to see her return to their newsfeeds.

‘MOTHER IS BACK,’ one commented underneath, as another said: ‘Thank god she’s back!!’
