Todd Snyder and L.L. Bean have linked up for the Spring/Summer 2022 season with a new collaborative collection. Titled “Maine-Ah,” the collection marks the brands’ first joint spring/summer endeavor.
For the new offering, Snyder fuses the natural beauty of coastal Maine with New York street style for an expanded exhibition of casual dressing. Specifically, the collection’s name refers to the pride Maine residents take in their pine tree-filled state.
“I was thinking about the warm-weather styles that a guy would wear for a beach hike during the day and then to relax by a campfire at night,” Snyder said in a release. “Leon Leonwood Bean understood the restorative power of nature, and he wanted to create the gear that allowed people to enjoy themselves in the wild. He has a wonderful line in his book that kind of says it all: ‘To my mind hunting and fishing is the big lure that takes us into the great open spaces and teaches us to forget the mean and petty things of life.’”
In line with this mentality and the L.L. Bean’s signature style, the collection is outfitted with a range of pieces like anoraks, hiking-style shorts, recycled fleece, knitwear, overshirts pants and more. Collection garments channel nature through shades of cobalt blue, orange, indigo birch brown, dandelion, tangerine and more. On top of these hues, select pieces include camouflage and plaid prints. Placed across the range of pieces are archival L.L. Bean logos from the 1980s that further emphasize the nature-focused aesthetic.
Rounding out the collaboration are accessories like backpacks, beanies, caps and shoes.
