Hodinkee and Longines have joined forces to release a limited edition of the Longines Spirit Zulu Time, a timepiece that has quickly become a favorite of the watchmaker’s GMT examples, following its release in 2022.
The watch is made from Grade 5 titanium, an alloy that is both lighter and tougher than steel, selected with both comfort and elegance in mind.
While this specific model may have come to life in 2022, the Longines Spirit Zulu Time owes its name to the first Longines wristwatch with dual time zones, which was produced in 1925. Notably, this edition has its name and number engraved on its screw-down back as well as a bi-directional, circular-brushed titanium bezel, featuring a laser-engraved 24-hour scale.
Inside the case, the watch is powered by the Longines L844.4 caliber, paired with a silicon balance-spring and components that offer a magnetic resistance that is ten times greater than the ISO 764 benchmark standard. The focal point of the watch features a sand-blasted anthracite dial, complemented by a date window at 3 o’clock and topped by a domed sapphire crystal.
The Hodinkee x Longines Spirit Zulu Time watch is set to release today, December 5 via Hodinkee’s official site and is limited to an edition of 500 examples.
