For this winter season, IKEA readies the third installment of its Nytillverkad collection, which draws aesthetic cues from the past. While the previous drop centers on’ 70s and ‘80s influence and a summery palette that consists of oranges, pinks, and reds, the latest collection encapsulates a much more playful mood.
Rendered in vivid greens, yellows, cobalt blue, and black, the 13-piece product lineup boasts an electrifying yet relaxed appeal. The collection aims to infuse the era’s youthful expression into modern homes, as expressed through its bold shapes and lively patterns.
Spotlighted in the collection are iconic furniture pieces revived from IKEA’s archives by designers, Karin Mobring and Gillis Lundgren from the ‘60s and early’ 70s. Notably, the new BAGGBODA side table is modeled off Mobring CROMI table, which was first introduced into IKEA’s 1971 catalog. The BAGGBODA remains faithful to the original’s BAUHAUS-inspired silhouette and is now offered in a white and yellow colorway.
Other noteworthy pieces include the SOTENÄS and DYVLINGE armchairs, both of which are based on some of Lundgren’s favorites. SOTENÄS is the modern reincarnation of the PUCK from 1969, while DYVLINGE is adapted from the anti-stress MILA armchair.
The third Nytillverkad collection will be available worldwide in IKEA stores starting January 2024. For more information, keep an eye out on IKEA’s official website.
