Jordan Brand Reveals Largest Female Roster Ever

Joining the largest women’s roster in the brand’s history, the Jordan Brand announced the addition of eight WNBA players earlier today on Twitter. In its 25th season, the hallmark Jumpman of the Jordan Brand has more female players repping its logo than ever before.

The endorsement group features WNBA athletes Jordin Canada, Te’a Cooper, Crystal Dangerfield, Dearica Hamby, Satou Sabally and Aerial Powers, and has also signed Arella Guirantes and Chelsea Dungee to the Jumpman WNBA team as rookies (the signing of the former five was announced back in December.) Collectively, the new recruits boast a combined seven WNBA championships, and join the brand’s legends Asia Durr, Kia Nurse and Maya Moore.

“These amazing athletes are defining a lot of things about Jordan Brand and leading a true conversation that’s impacting culture and our communities across the globe,” Michael Jordan said in a statement for Nike.

The new members of the Jordan Brand family spoke on using their professional platforms for championing Black community initiatives in a press release, whether in their local communities or in the WNBA’s dedication of its past season to the #SayHerName movement.

“We don’t just stick to our sport,” said. Minnesota Lynx’s Crystal Dangerfield, who was named 2020 WNBA Rookie of the Year. “We’re vocal in the league, as a whole, and we’re going to bring it to the community — to leave things better than we found them.”
