Justin Timberlake to 'reunite with NSYNC and release first song in 20 years'

Try not to freak out, but an NSYNC reunion could be on the horizon.

After more than two decades, it’s said not only will the group be reuniting, but their next project will also include Justin Timberlake – and new music!

Ok, this is a lot to process.

According to reports, the iconic boy band – also consisting of Lance Bass, Chris Kirkpatrick, JC Chasez, and Joey Fatone – will team up for a song for the third Trolls movie.

As per Entertainment Tonight, NSYNC are expected to release a new single for Trolls Band Together, which would be their first song together in over 20 years.

Their last single was Girlfriend, released way back in 2001!

Now, before you start questioning how weird it is for the Trolls movie to be the catalyst for an NSYNC reunion, remember that JT has played a big part in the animated franchise.

Justin, 42, has voiced the character Branch in the first two installments of the franchise films: Trolls (2016) and Trolls World Tour (2020).

He’ll be returning for the third outing which is expected to premiere in November.

The trailer has already dropped and there are major hints that the NSYNC reunion theories could come true.

For example, at one point, Branch and his four brothers are said to have been in a group together called BroZone, which is an Easter Egg if we ever did see one.

What’s more, a teaser scene shows Floyd (voiced by Troye Sivan) getting kidnapped, with John Dory (Eric André) setting out to track down Branch and bring the group back together, saving their brother.

There’s also some very clever wordplay with references to popular pop bands.

Floyd tells his brother at one point in a flashback: ‘Branch, we’re out of sync.

‘We’ve gone from boys to men, and now there’s only one direction for us to go: to the back streets.’

Like, come on?

John Dory then chimes in: ‘Branch, it’s time we find the rest of our brothers and get the band back together.’

They then say in unison: ‘Bro time!’

Universal Pictures has remained tight-lipped on the speculation, but we’re hoping for some sort of exciting announcement soon.

Back in their heyday, NSYNC achieved six top 10 singles in the United States, including a Billboard number one, and two number one albums.

Alas, they went on a break in 2002 but continued as a four-piece until 2007, when they officially disbanded.

Meanwhile, Justin – undeniably the most successful member – released his debut solo album in 2004 and, following its global success, announced his departure from the group.

Since then, he’s gone on to become one of the best-selling music artists in the world, with 88million record sales under his belt.

He also has Grammys (10 to be exact), four Emmys, three Brit Awards, and nine Billboard Music Awards.

As for his acting career, he’s taken on roles in The Social Network, Friends with Benefits, and In Time to name just a few.

Reps for Justin Timberlake and NSYNC have been contacted for comment.
