Pivoting from its club-centric and wildly hedonistic SS22 range, LOEWE presents a contrastingly pared-back Paula’s Ibiza collection this season, drawing inspiration from the relaxed lifestyles of the Balearic island.
With a tropical landscape providing the backdrop to the new range, creative director Jonathan Anderson references Ibiza’s natural elements within the brand’s characteristic craft style. Elevating summer-ready crochet, polo shirts, dresses as well as other woven pieces that take on palm-resembling patches, while tops incorporate foliage more literally with real Alocasia leaves fused onto their vibrant prints.
For the bottoms – including Bermuda and micro shorts – LOEWE modifies the typically thick and water-retaining denim material to be lightweight and airy. Attributing to the “easy-breezy” attitude of the collection, each garment adopts a loose and slightly oversized silhouette. These versatile cuts allow the full range to be worn beachside or even within the city this summer.
Complementing the woven, braided and even silk-like textures within the collection, an assortment of accessories crafted from raffia and Iraca palm are also released alongside the garments. In addition to its typical range of basket and bucket-shaped bags, the brand introduces the colorful LOEWE Font Tote. As the name suggests, this handbag features bold lettering that spells out “LOEWE” on its tightly woven lateral. Available in three different sizes, for every Iraca basket and Font Tote sold, the brand will donate €15 EUR to educational projects in the local communities who hand make the pieces in Madagascar and Colombia.
Other highlights amongst the line-up include the men’s fold shopper that can be personalized with charms, the new “Wave Mask” and “Flame” sunglasses as well as slip-on espadrilles and slides in the footwear offering.
