Swiss brand MAMMUT has tapped Hiking Patrol, the online platform for hiking enthusiasts, for its latest release. The Sapuen Low GTX is a hiking shoe designed to function as efficiently on a mountain as it does in everyday settings.
The shoe itself is relatively unassuming – appearing as a thick-soled sneaker that ends in a subtle rubber toe – making it actually ideal for casual wear. But beyond the clean design, MAMMUT has decked out the GTX with features preparing its wearer for long periods of trekking and mountaineering.
One of the brand’s inline models, the shoe is based around a GORE-TEX membrane to, above all else, keep one’s feet dry throughout their hike. Adding to that base, MAMMUT added a Vibram sole – a type of durable rubber – for flexible grip and traction. The interior of the GTX, meanwhile, is lined with MAMMUT’s own foam blend, designed to cushion the doot and prevent blisters.
While MAMMUT has continuously established itself as a leading brand within the sport for well over a century, Hiking Patrol is a newer name when it comes to gear, building on its style-minded curation of hiking content. Last year, the platform also teamed up with Diemme for a colorful revamp of the Italian label’s Roccia Vet Sport boot.
Available in black and “savannah” tan shades, MAMMUT x Hiking Patrol’s Sapuen Low GTX will launch on August 17 exclusively on Zalando.
