Matt Hancock angered SAS: Who Dares Wins stars with disgraceful dinner habit

Matt Hancock’s presence in the upcoming series of Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins really riled up the cast thanks to his bad behaviour around the dinner table.

The former MP is taking another go at primetime TV after entering the I’m A Celebrity Jungle last year, a move that was met with mass backlash despite him eventually coming in third place.

This time around, Hancock has upped the ante by taking part in one of the most gruelling shows on the small screen today, with celebs being put through the most intense challenges in extreme conditions with no let-up.

Each series sees the celebrity line-up, which this year features the likes of Gareth Gates, Melinda Messenger and Gareth Thomas, put through strenuous army training under the instruction of former Special Forces operators.

Along with the brutal beastings and difficult mental challenges, the group must live in a basic camp situated in the jungle of Thung Ui in North Vietnam. There are no luxuries, and their food is rationed.

It has now been claimed that Hancock, 44, wasn’t the best team player when it came to dinnertime, with his co-star Danielle Lloyd revealing all.

Shedding light on how each campmate would queue up and dish themselves up from a communal serving plate, the model and TV star said: ‘There were times when it came to the food when Matt would help himself to massive portions.

‘I was fuming!’

Despite, Danielle, 39, spotting his habit she decided to let it go unchallenged.

‘Nobody took it up with him. It was hard to do it in that environment,’ she explained at the series launch attended by Metro.co.uk.

Comedian Zoe Lyons corroborated her story, revealing: ‘Dinner time was always a little bit tense.

‘There were a couple of issues with portioning up and times when I did look at Matt’s dish.’

While Hancock’s position in the line-up came as a shock due to his controversial past, former Liberty X star Michelle Heaton, insisted they tried to treat him as an equal.

The disgraced former Health Secretary resigned from his position in Boris Johnson’s cabinet in 2021 after breaching Covid social distancing rules.

The married father-of-three was seen kissing a colleague, Gina Coladangelo, in government offices.

Michelle, 44, said: ‘I think we’re all in the same boat that we leave everything at the door, no matter our own personal opinions of what happened and didn’t happen.

‘How he handled things had to be left at the door. We’re all [the cast] quite similar nice people, and we judge people the way they treated us.

‘I’ve got to say he treated me with the utmost respect from the moment that I met him. A lot of our conversations that you won’t see were about family life, and about how we get on at home.’

Watch Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins on Channel 4 from September 26.
