Meghan Markle will be providing the voiceover for a Disney documentary about elephants in what will be her first post-royal gig.
The Twitter account for Disney Nature confirmed Meghan’s addition to the doc, while promoting the release of Elephant and a second movie, Dolphin Reef, narrated by Natalie Portman.
Sharing a trailer, debuting footage from both movies, the account tweeted: ‘Two new movies, two unforgettable journeys.
‘Start streaming Disneynature’s Elephant, narrated by Meghan, The Duchess of Sussex, and Disneynature’s Dolphin Reef, narrated by Natalie Portman, on April 3, only on #DisneyPlus.’
The trailer reveals: ‘Elephant, narrated by Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, follows one family’s extraordinary 1000 mile journey across Africa on an adventure that will change their lives.’
Elephant will follow one African elephant named Shani and her son Jomo as they head off across the Kalahari Desert with their herd, and the movie will feature on Disney’s new streaming service Disney Plus.
It drops at the beginning of April and People reports the documentary is in partnership with Elephants Without Borders – a conservation project that Meghan and Prince Harry have worked closely with in the past.
In 2017, during their trip to Botswana, Meghan and Harry assisted Dr Mike Chase, who works on the project, in his conservation efforts.
Meghan and Harry had shared pictures from their trip to Instagram to celebrate World Elephant Day in August, with one snap showing Harry approaching an elephant with a navigation collar.

The post explained that such collars help the team at Elephants Without Borders to track and protect the elephants and follow their migratory patterns.
In January, it was revealed that Meghan had signed a voiceover deal with Disney in return for a donation towards the conservation charity.
Her addition came after Harry was seen joking with Disney’s CEO Bob Igor at the premiere of 2019 live action remake The Lion King, where he was seen pitching Meghan’s voiceover talents.
It’s believed Meghan then completed the recording for the documentary, before she took a six-week break in Canada with Harry and their son Archie over Christmas.
Earlier this month, Meghan and Harry were seen carrying out their last engagements as royals together in London.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s decision to step down as senior royals will come into effect from 31 March.
Elephant is available to stream from 3 April on Disney Plus.
