Mel B insists announcement on Victoria Beckham rejoining Spice Girls is coming

Spice Girls fans, hold on to your hats because Mel B just gave a shock update about Victoria Beckham potentially returning to the group.

For years – or even decades at this point – we have all been hoping for the news that the iconic girl band will be reforming with all the original members: Scary, Sporty, Ginger, Baby and Posh.

Four of the members have reunited multiple times for tours or special performances, while Victoria performed in a one-off for the London Olympics in 2012 and has not sung with the girls since.

They all remain close friends, with a mini Spice Girls reunion taking place last year as Victoria and David Beckham’s eldest son Brooklyn got married.

But now Scary Spice Mel, 47, has claimed something big is just around the corner, and we’re already getting excitement.

Speaking to The Sun, the hitmaker confirmed they are ‘planning on releasing a statement’ about Victoria rejoining the group once again.

‘What that is, I can’t say right now because we’re just finishing off perfecting what we’re going to be doing together, all five of us, but it’s going to be something that the fans are really going to love,’ she said.

Mel added that she didn’t need to ‘convince’ Victoria to come back as they’ve ‘always been in contact’ and they have a groupchat, but ‘it’s all about timing.’

‘And we’ve managed to do that so there should be an announcement pretty soon,’ she teased.

The group toured as a four-piece in 2019, with Mel B, Mel C, Geri Horner and Emma Bunton delighting fans across the country with a massive stadium tour, though Victoria did not join due to work commitments.

There has been speculation on and off since of another reunion, including a hope-against-hope rumour that they would perform at Glastonbury, which was sadly shut down.

Mel C has also never given up hope however, and just last year said they had an  ‘incredible time’ on the tour four years ago, and really want to reform as a quintet.

She told The Times in December that the other Spice Girls are ‘keen to get back on stage’ for another reunion but need to navigate ‘everybody’s life, work, families.’

Victoria returning would be ‘the ultimate dream,’ she said, adding ‘tdoor is always open for Victoria, we would love to see her back. We keep our fingers crossed.’

Posh’s last performance with the Spice Girls was at the closing ceremony of the London Olympics in 2012 with the other members of the group, dancing on top of decorated black taxis.
