Millie Bobby Brown has revealed it is a dream of hers to play Britney Spears in a film about her life.
The Stranger Things star, 18, has been a household name since she was a child as she shot to fame in the acclaimed Netflix series, and admits she relates to Britney’s story of growing up in the spotlight.
In a recent interview with Drew Barrymore, the young actress was asked if there was anything on her ‘bucket list’ as a filmmaker, and the Enola Holmes star had an answer ready.
Drew, too, grew up famous, having gained her first leading role as a young child in ET, The Extra-Terrestrial, and the pair bonded over their shared experiences this week on the Drew Barrymore Show.
‘I want to play a real person. I think for me, Britney,’ Millie declaared.
‘I think her story resonates with me. Growing up in the public eye. Watching videos of her, watching interviews of her when she was younger. The same thing with you!’ she added to the Scream actress.
‘I see her scramble for words and I don’t know her but when I look at pictures of her I feel I can tell her story in the right way,’ Millie went on.
Toxic singer Britney’s story has been well documented, from her rise to fame as a young teenager via The Mickey Mouse Club to her music career, her mental health issues and controversial conservatorship.
Millie recently opened up about growing up on the set of Stranger Things, calling co-stars Noah Schnapp, 18, and Charlie Heaton, 28, her ‘schoolmates.’
However she says her relationship with Enola Holmes co-star Henry Cavill, 39, is different as they met when she was older, and while they have ‘a really good friendship, a really healthy one, [it’s] one that we have terms and conditions.’
She added: ‘I know Henry. He has terms and conditions with me. I’m not allowed to ask about his personal life.
‘It’s like, “Millie, shut up. No.” And I’m like “Understood.” ‘
‘Whereas with the Stranger Things kids, it’s different. There’s no boundaries because it’s like we’re all siblings.
‘But with Henry, he’s very strict with me, which I appreciate.’
