New Balance‘s X-Racer is many things: it’s a casual shoe that draws inspiration from running footwear, is bolstered with hike-ready ornamentation and is a favorite of one Jaden Smith. Now, the X-Racer is hitting the trails once again with a new “Marblehead” colorway.
Equal parts earthy and vivid, the “Marblehead” features a stone gray mesh base with a black suede heel clip and a green suede mudguard. The technical lacing system is secured by two main anchor points on each side: a strip of blue fabric with “Exuberant Pink” detailing towards the forefoot and an Air Jordan 4-like black “wing” towards the collar.
More “Exuberant Pink” is used on the midfoot’s N logo and the black toe bumper’s NB graphic. Collar trim and eyestays are rimmed with a peach tone, mesh tongues mash blue, pink, orange and black together and black heel tabs aid with ease of entry and removal. Down below, ABZORB midsoles and toothed outsoles complete the look by adding long-lasting comfort and all-terrain grip.
The New Balance X-Racer “Marblehead” is available now via the New Balance webstore. The MSRP is set at $100 USD.
