Nicole McLaughlin is a New York-based designer best known for creating unique garments and accessories through unconventional upcycled materials which most recently include tennis ball gloves, “Jeanies,” pickle jar heels, and Haribo gummy pants.
Following her appointment as Arc’teryx‘s first-ever design ambassador and collaborative releases with the likes of Crocs and Russell Athletics, McLaughlin has now teased a new footwear offering in collaboration with Reebok. As Mclaughlin began her career in Graphic Design for the sportswear label, the collab marks a full-circle moment for the pioneering designer.
The teaser image for the collaborative shoes shows a white grid nylon base accentuated by reflective piping and “nicolemclaughlin” ribbing across the tongue and laterals. A mesh side compartment reveals a carabiner tucked underneath and a stacked sole unit continues the heavy-duty design.
From the tag in the background, these pairs look to be official samples, so stay tuned for release updates to arrive in the near future.
Elsewhere in footwear, take an official look at the Nike Air Max 1 NH “Treeline.”
