Chris Gibbs and his team over at Union LA have won over the hearts of the sneaker community in recent years thanks to their collaborative projects with the likes of Jordan Brand and Nike. To spring off the momentum garnered from its Dunk Low “Passport Pack,” the Los Angeles-based retailer will soon be revisiting its partnership with Jumpman to bring striking Air Jordan 2 colorways to life, and one of the entries is this “Rattan” colorway that has been officially unveiled.
Along with Nike loading its detailed images, Union LA has also taken to Instagram to tease the shoes with animated flowers as well as green leaves and vines. Nature clearly plays an integral part of this interaction, and this is evident through the flower-like shapes that are embroidered into the collars in tonal fashion. Most of the real estate is styled in its titular shade, while small notes of a golden yellow poke out beneath its mid-foot perforations as well as the Union tabs that rest next to the throat. A co-branded banner also arrives on the collars while the insoles are backdropped in more yellow and come stamped red logos from each party.
Early reports have these launching on April 15 for $225 USD but Union hasn’t confirmed this yet.
