Ollie Locke and Gareth Locke's twin babies spent weeks in intensive care

Ollie Locke and his husband Gareth Locke have shared details of their twin babies’ birth, revealing that the newborns were in intensive care for several weeks.

On Sunday August 20, the couple – who previously appeared on Made In Chelsea – announced the arrival of their son Apollo and their daughter Cosima, who were born via their surrogate Rebecca ‘Bex’ Ward.

The reality stars recently launched a new YouTube channel called Our Daddy Diaries, where they are keeping their fans updated on every step of their parenting journey.

In a new video that they teased on Instagram, they revealed that while people might have thought that their children had only just been born, they were actually brought into the world six weeks ago and had to be looked after in neonatal intensive care, during what they described as a ‘scary time’.

‘We’ve got a little bit of a confession, and we did promise that we’d share absolutely everything with you – however, we have been keeping a bit of a secret,’ said Ollie, 36.

‘The babies were actually born six weeks ago. It has been a scary time. They have been in neonatal intensive care for quite a long time. They’re all perfect and really doing well and now they’re home.’

Gareth then chimed in to explain that they didn’t want to share the news of their babies’ birth with the world until they had been brought home.

‘It was something that we just didn’t want to share until we had them safe back home with us and all part of the family,’ he said.

Ollie continued: ‘Now we’re all home and happy and stuff like that, we’re going to make sure that there’ll be an episode all about this super, super soon.’

During the video, the couple revealed what it’s been like for them getting to grips with changing nappies, as well as introducing their children to their beloved dogs.

One YouTube user commented on their video: ‘Congratulations Lockes! The NICU journey is a really scary rollercoaster ride but I’m so glad your babies are now home.’

Another wrote: ‘Congratulations to you both on the birth of your beautiful twins! Don’t know how you managed to keep it a secret for 6 weeks. Love their names, you’re going to be great parents and I’m excited to follow your journey.’

Bex also celebrated the babies’ arrival on Instagram, expressing her excitement to be able to finally reveal that she had given birth to them.

Sharing a photo of her holding the twins, she wrote in her caption: ‘I’m so proud to be able to announce that I made a dream come true for 2 amazing daddies @ollielockeworld @garethplocke.’
