Happy Birthday, Will Smith! From being the King of the 1990s to making us laugh through the 2000s, we’ve seen Smith through all the big moments — including the births of his superstar children! The King Richard star and his family are one of the cutest, and arguably one of the closest, Hollywood families today.
In his first marriage, Smith had his first child, Willard Carroll “Trey” Smith III, with ex-wife Sheree Zampino. Then, he and Jada Pinkett fell in love after meeting on the set of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and began a fairytale romance. After getting married in 1997, they later had two beautiful children, Jaden and then Willow Smith.
In an interview from Jada and Willow’s Facebook Watch show, Red Table Talk, Will actually guest-starred and dished on his feelings on fatherhood. “From the time I was 6 years old, I wanted to be a father. I loved how my family was, but there were massive critical deficiencies in my father’s parenting that I wanted to correct.”
He continued with one of the biggest lessons he learned saying, “Kids aren’t ours. They are their own people. I just completely let go of my needs and my desires for their lives.”
