Paul McCartney will offer an inside look into his songwriting process and the meaning behind his lyrics in a new podcast. McCartney: A Life in Lyrics will sit The Beatles star down with poet Paul Muldoon to delve into the experiences and people that inspired some of his most popular songs.
Rather than recording a new episode each week, A Life in Lyrics revives conversations between the two artists over the course of several years. Most of these occurred as McCartney and Muldoon collaborated on the book The Lyrics: 1956 to Present.
The podcast will span 24 episodes, bringing its listeners a “combination master class, memoir, and improvised journey.” Each episode unpacks a specific song from McCartney’s catalog, ranging from his early years in the Beatles to some of his more recent solo work.
