Irish designer Robyn Lynch has cemented herself at the helm of Britain’s fashion sector, showing no signs of slowing down when expanding her utilitarian universe. The East London-based menswear designer constantly references familiar ground, drawing inspiration from her Dublin home and childhood family affairs.
The Woolmark Prize finalist is stepping away from her sewing machine to announce her inaugural exhibition at London’s NOW Gallery. Greetings From Ireland will enter Lynch’s creative mind, detailing her design process while honoring her Irish background through inflatable sculptures.
Lynch follows in the footsteps of successful British talent that have taken over NOW Gallery, including Matty Bovan, Nicholas Daley, and Mowalola. Greetings From Ireland will celebrate the designer’s Irish heritage through green shamrocks hidden throughout, taking an immersive look at her retro-inspired menswear designs.
Lynch has worked with Irish artist Rory Mullen to create inflatable castles that bring a youthful approach to nostalgic themes. Once inside, you can experience her design process firsthand while examining different materials and engaging with her local community. Finally, Lynch has collaborated with KEPLER to create “try-on” simulators that allow you to wear garments through virtual simulators at NOW Gallery.
Robyn Lynch’s Greetings From Ireland exhibition will be open from December 6, 2023, to February 25, 2024, at NOW Gallery in London.
Elsewhere, PUMA, Manchester City, and BlackEyePatch bring collaborative charm to football.
