Rylan Clark reacts to Jordan Henderson's rainbow armband being blacked out

Rylan Clark responded to an announcement video that covered up footballer Jordan Henderson’s rainbow armband and was less than impressed with the move.

The 34-year-old presenter took to Twitter to share his thoughts on Al-Ettifaq’s decision to black out the Liverpool player’s arm in their video that revealed they would be singing the star.

In a since-deleted tweet, he posted a photo of Jordan wearing the band in support of the LGBTQ+ community and added a snap of an exasperated woman, letting it be known he wasn’t happy at the club’s dismissal of the symbol.

His tweet appeared with no caption to fully explain the meaning behind the two images that lay side by side that he shared on Thursday.

However, it could be concluded that the star meant to nod at the football team’s refusal to include the armband in their promotional material given the timing of the post.

The announcement footage alerted fans to the side’s latest signing and fully blacked out the symbolic armband and replaced it with a black-and-white grab from the player’s arm during a different match.

‘Given choices he has recently made, Kop Outs doubt & question if @JHenderson was ever an actual ally.

‘We are deeply disappointed that he is choosing to work as part of a sportswashing operation, attempting to distract from a regime where women & LGBT+ people are oppressed, & that regularly tops the world death sentence table.’
