Life-long friends Cathrine Saks and Barbara Potts hit cult acclaim when they launched their eponymous brand in 2014. Fur-trimmed coats, snakeskin effects, and corsetry lacing on trousers became the brand’s signature “sexy but make it Copenhagen” aesthetic, as if the woman it dresses isn’t trying too hard whatsoever, putting the power in how she feels in her own right at the fore. This is a considerable part of where Saks Potts is today, as explored in its new Spring 2024 collection.
Titled “Horden Rund,” which translates to “Around the World,” the collection is inspired by traveling and summertime in Copenhagen, notably drawing upon the founders’ childhood adventures and the same ones they take as grownups. With this in mind, Saks Potts Spring 2024 is for the woman who’s on a staycation — she knows that the weather in Copenhagen is unpredictable, but that won’t stop her from exploring with swimwear, sarongs, dresses, Bermudas and raincoats combined.
Standouts include the metallic silver belted trench coat, big enough to hide you and all your friends inside with extra support from the storm flap front, while pleated skirts cut in leather are another nod to making yourself weatherproofed. Shirts and matching bras are striped and formal in their nature, but sparkly for the woman who wants to let loose after dinner, and other shirts — like the one in yellow — are the perfect all-day-long number, as its cut enables it to pair with jeans or swimwear.
It’s day-to-night, and yet somehow perfect for all occasions. Check out the runway in the gallery above.
