Fans are stunned by the large file sizes for the console versions of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, although it’s more manageable on Xbox Series S.
Those extra six weeks may have felt like forever, but we’re now just over a week away until the launch of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor.
Despite all the trailers and previews, there’s still quite a bit EA and Respawn haven’t elaborated on, although one detail fans have recently uncovered is the game’s file size on consoles.
This may be more shocking than any plot twist the game has, as it’s reported that Star Wars Jedi: Survivor requires upwards of 150GB of space on both PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.
This makes it roughly as large as Activision’s Call Of Duty games, which have become notorious for having such large file sizes that you effectively have to delete every other game just to make room for them.
Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, for example, also required 150 GB of space at launch, whilst Call Of Duty: Warzone 2.0. needs 115 GB.
Reports on Twitter state that Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is only marginally smaller – about 148 GB on PlayStation 5 and 140GB on Xbox Series X. Although it’s also said, for Xbox Series S, that the file size is a far more manageable 44GB.
That’s almost certainly because the Xbox Series S version will use lower quality textures, that take up less space.
