Succession's Sarah Snook pays tribute to series finale with her newborn baby

Succession star Sarah Snook has paid tribute to the final episode of the drama-comedy series by posting a picture featuring her new baby.

The Australian actress, 35, has played main character Siobhan Roy since the first episode of the series, which came to a close after four seasons on Monday.

For her portrayal of Siobhan, known in the series as ‘Shiv’, Sarah has accrued a huge online fanbase taken home a Golden Globe and a Critics Choice Award.

Now, with the series coming to a close after the death of Logan Roy and the sale of Waystar Royco to Swedish investors, Sarah has paid a loving tribute.

On Instagram, she said: ‘It’s hard to express what this show has meant to me. The places I got to go, the immense talent I got to work with.’

‘It breaks my heart that it is all over. But my heart had to be this full of all the memories, good times, challenges and triumphs, to be able to break at all.’

She continued: ‘To have been blessed to join this crazy adventure of a show will be a career highlight, which will no doubt be hard to top.’

‘I am so, so proud and humbled by everyone’s hard work season after season: we all set the bar high for each other, then exceeded it,’ she added.

However, what caught the eye of Succession fans was the back of a baby’s head – Sarah revealed she was pregnant at the season four premiere.

Fellow Australian actress Phoebe Tonkin commented: ‘Congratulations Sarah. (And a second congratulations on that little head too in frame too)’

A Sarah Snook fan account posted, ‘Love to see your little one watching with you!’ before joking: ‘You’re already a much better mom than Shiv.’

At the beginning of the final season, it was revealed that Shiv was pregnant with estranged husband Tom’s child. The series ended early in her pregnancy.

In the final episode, Shiv made the crucial decision in the boardroom vote to sell her late father’s company Waystar Royco to Alexander Skarsgard’s Lukas Matsson.

In the process, Shiv’s brother Kendall, played by Jeremy Strong, was denied the chance to take over his father’s company in a finale that shocked viewers.
