Japanese streetwear brand The Black Eye Patch has re-linked with Reebok for a new line of athletic sneakers that incorporate design elements of service packaging, handling and delivery, titled “Reebok Designed by Black Eye Patch.”
The summer of 2020 first saw the brand collaborate with Reebok for its 35th Anniversary and this new drop features two heavy-hitting styles, the GL3000 and the CL Legacy AZ, which are a modified display of BEP’s well known “Handle With Care,” “Caution” and “Danger” trademarks. The “GL” sneaker comes in a wheat-black-and-white colorway with Reebok’s “R” logo placed delicately in a pair of red graphicized hands adjacent to the mesh nylon toe box. The tongue has a barcode image of the Reebok logo with the delivery note “Do Not Bend.” The outsole is a ridged tan gum that matches the scalloped back, and an all-black version of the GL has the same backstay detailing.
The “CL” sneaker is a more modern style – available in black or navy blue – with a space foam outsole, suede upper, mesh nylon midsection and contrast serging stitch around the collar. The pull tab is a vibrant orange leather and the back of the shoe contains directional arrows that further emphasize the delivery design theme.
Both styles of the Black Eye Patch x Reebok sneakers are available at the Reebok Shibuya location in Tokyo, and online at Reebok Japan’s website.
