Tim McGraw Shares Secret to Keeping Romance Alive With Wife Faith Hill

While countless people seem to be going stir-crazy at this point in the coronavirus quarantine, there’s one demographic that has transitioned relatively seamlessly: homebodies. Among them? Country superstars Tim McGraw and Faith Hill, who are even managing to squeeze in “date nights” during their lockdown. And TBH, those date nights are the stuff introverts’ dreams are made of.

Hopping on a teleconference call with Taste of Country Nights’ Evan Paul and Amber Atnip this week, McGraw opened up about life at the couple’s Nashville home after roughly two months of sheltering-in-place. After joking Hill’s “always ready to kill me,” McGraw admitted quarantine has been nice for the husband-and-wife of almost 24 years, saying, “It’s been great. You know, we spend so much time together anyway… we’ve actually really enjoyed it, to tell you the truth.”

As for how the couple has been spending their quality time, well, it sounds a lot like Netflix-and-chill. McGraw explained, “Our date nights are usually the same: dinner and pile up on the couch to watch a movie or series. We’re pretty simple. We don’t go out often — even before all of this we didn’t go out very often,” he explained, adding, “We’re pretty much sit-by-the-fire-and-watch-TV people, for sure.”

Perk? Quarantine has given them enough downtime to finish a few TV series they’d been lagging behind in watching. “We get caught up in series. We started Homeland before the start of the year, when the holidays were here, just to try to catch up from the very beginning. Once all this happened, we watched all of them. We finally got to get through all of Homeland,” McGraw revealed, laughing.

And if you need any further proof McGraw and Hill are just like the rest of us, consider this — the next series they may binge-watch is Netflix’s Tiger King (“We started to watch it last night”).

The couple has full rein of the family TVs right now, seeing as their three daughters aren’t home at the moment. Middle daughter Maggie, 21, recently returned to California, where their oldest daughter Gracie, 23, also lives. Just this week, their youngest daughter Audrey, 18, fled to the family’s Franklin, Tennessee, farm. “She wanted to get away from us,” McGraw joked. “At least she’s safe!”
