Sony Pictures has shared a new trailer for the hotly-anticipated Ghostbusters: Afterlife, starring Finn Wolfhard, McKenna Grace, Carrie Coon and Paul Rudd.
The visual offers a quick glimpse at several members from the original 1984 film, including Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd and the late Harold Ramis, who also appeared in the all-female 2016 reboot, though not in character. Following the 2016 film’s premiere, Sony employed Jason Reitman — the son of Ivan Reitman, who directed the ’80s films and will produce Afterlife — to co-write and direct the upcoming movie with younger actors alongside members of the original cast.
Sony shared the new trailer to Twitter writing, “He came out here for a reason.”
The plot follows Callie (Carrie Coon) and her two children, Phoebe (McKenna Grace) and Trevor (Finn Wolfhard), as they arrive in a small town and begin to uncover their ties to the original ghostbusters and their grandfather’s untold legacy. Rudd takes a starring role as a summer school teacher.
On Monday, Sony teased the trailer on Twitter with a short clip of the famous Ecto-1 driving down a deserted road with the caption, “Something’s Coming.”
Ghostbusters: Afterlife was originally slated for a July 2020 premiere, but experienced delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The film is now scheduled for release on November 11.
Elsewhere, an original live-action Pokémon series is coming to Netflix.
