You're Invited to POPSUGAR and Terry McMillan's "Waiting to Exhale" Watch Party

It’s been 30 years (!) since Terry McMillan released “Waiting to Exhale,” a story that centers Black women’s perspectives on love and life. The iconic film adaptation, which wouldn’t be the last of her works to hit the big screen before the end of the ’90s, would go on to gross $82 million and earn 11 Grammy nominations, including album of the year and song of the year for “Exhale (Shoop Shoop).”

We’re thrilled to announce McMillan will be joining POPSUGAR for a “Waiting to Exhale” watch party on Friday, Feb. 25, at 3:30 p.m. PT/6:30 p.m. ET. Join in on the conversation happening over at POPSUGAR with #PSWatches, and catch the film on Amazon Prime or HBO Max.

If your 2022 reading list needs a bit more friendship, and maybe a sprinkle of revenge, this is a perfect time to pick up a copy of “Waiting to Exhale” ($18) or any of McMillan’s other works.
