Some retailers are already selling Tears Of The Kingdom pre-orders for less than Nintendo’s £60 asking price.
UK Nintendo fans may not have to worry about Nintendo’s $10 price hike for The Legend Of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom, but that doesn’t make it any less expensive than it already is.
The game is still priced at £60 ($70 if you’re in America) and while Nintendo of America president Doug Bowser thinks it justifies the cost, not everyone is able or willing to drop that much money on a game. Even if it is the much-hyped sequel of a modern day classic.
We’ve done a bit of digging and found out where you can pre-order the new Zelda for yourself, at a discount of £10 – which is currently the cheapest option available.
Whereas most retailers are offering Tears Of The Kingdom at £59.99 (the same price Nintendo has on its website), ShopTo so far has the most attractive offer at £49.85.
This is a saving of 17% and it comes with a pre-order bonus poster of Link pulling the same pose as that fancy statue Nintendo made, which is also getting an amiibo.
This isn’t unique to ShopTo either; The Game Collection is giving away the same poster with Tears Of The Kingdom pre-orders, which it’s selling for just 10p extra at £49.95.
- The Legend Of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom – £49.85 – ShopTo
- The Legend Of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom – £49.95 – The Game Collection
As for the collector’s edition, which includes its own poster, an artbook, and a collection of pins, that unfortunately doesn’t appear to be cheap anywere.
In fact, at the time of writing, many retailers are sold out. The only exception we could find was Very, which is selling it for £109.99.
Frustratingly, Nintendo is no longer offering pre-orders for the collector’s edition on its website. Although it does have a couple of alternative bundles that still come with exclusive extras.
One includes a Zelda themed notebook that costs £64.49 while the other comes with a collector’s medal and is priced at £67.99. Or you can get a bundle containing both for £72.49.
- The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom + Notebook Bundle – £64.49
- The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom + Collector’s Medal Bundle – £67.99
- The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom + Notebook + Collector’s Medal Bundle – £72.49
The Legend Of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom launches for Nintendo Switch on May 12.
