ASDA Christmas sale: supermarket rolls back prices on toys for early Christmas shoppers

Every little helps, as Asda well know, and with this in mind the supermarket giant are rolling back on the price of hundreds of toys ahead of the festive season.

If you are one of those keen beans looking to get their Christmas shopping done early you can head into the stores now and pick up branded toys LEGO, Disney, Barbie and more.

The discounts are also available online at direct.asda.com. From main presents to stocking fillers there is something for everyone and with the sale prices starting at £5 you won’t be blowing the budget or stopping Santa from coming down the chimney. Highlights of the sale include a much discounted LEGO bestselling classic set which is filled with over 900 colourful pieces for £18, which is down from £29.97, and a sets of popular LOL Surprise toys that start at £18.

ASDA’s pre-season sale comes as retailers such as Argos, John Lewis and Amazon have all revealed their top predictions for this year’s bestselling christmas toys. Apparently one of the absolute must-have toys for this year is Pets Alive Boppi the Booty Shakin’ Llama toy, an electronic animal that went viral on social media when it was released earlier this year.

Since being unveiled at The London Toy Fair, the twerking fluffy toy has caused a huge buzz on social media sites and been the subject of many unboxing videos featured on Youtube. The llama is part of the newest collection of the Pets Alive range, made by manufacturer Zuru, that went on sale earlier this year.

It is priced between £20 and £25 at major retailers including The Entertainer and Smyths Toys. However, Amazon and John Lewis are selling it at a discounted price of £19.99. If this is still too steep for what is just a twerking llama, Wowcher have created a very similar toy for £11.98.

There have also been rumours that the Smyth’s Toys sale is due to start next week. One in-the-know shopper shared the news of the impending discounts on the money-saving website latestdeals.co.uk, and revealed it may begin on 24 September.

The member, who posted the news yesterday, 17 September, wrote: "I have heard some very strong rumours from 2 reliable sources now that the Smyths toys in store only £10 off EVERY £50 spent event will be starting next Tuesday 24th until Sunday 29th.

"This is a great sale as it includes almost everything apart from video consoles and games (Sadly) and it takes £10 off for each and every £50 that you spend so spend £100 get £20 off, spend £150 get £30 off etc.

"Fab time to get the big items ticked off your list that don't normally get discounted like LOL Surprise, bikes, Lego sets, Harry Potter, Paw Patrol.

"It works out at 20% off if you spend in multiples of £50 so take your time and plan ahead now what you are going to spend to get the best discount and if you are just under, think about adding smaller items like wrapping paper or stocking fillers to take you over and get to the next discount level".
