A shopper was amused after spotting a mistake on £1 Bargain Buys gift tags.
The customer, from South Lanarkshire, Scotland, warned others about a spelling error on the festive products.
She snapped a picture of the blunder and shared it to Facebook’s Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK group.
The image was captioned: “Make sure when buying your Christmas tags that the grammar is correct – unlike these from Bargain Buys. Santa says no peaking.”
Father Christmas should actually be telling people not to “peek” at presents before the big day.
The word “peaking” is defined as “reaching a highest point”, which doesn’t really make sense in this instance.
The post has garnered 1,600 likes and hundreds of comments since it was posted.
One Facebook user joked: "How did these pass quality control?"
Another said: “I got these – luckily my kids can’t read haha.”
A third wrote: “I think it’s hilarious. I’ve bought loads of things over the years without noticing until it was too late.”
And a fourth laughed: “Blooming ek! I’ve put them on the presents.”
Despite the amusement, some thought the spelling mistake could actually be interpreted as a good thing.
A commenter pointed out: “To be fair these would be great if you’ve got kids struggling with dyslexia.
“I’m sure they’d be thrilled to find out Santa struggles with words too.”
Another said: “What a brilliant suggestion.”
And a third joked: "Maybe they are right. It's just saying you are not allowed to reach your full potential."
