Beauty products that gained viral fame from Love Island – from a Fenty gloss to a £4 serum

Love Island contestants aren’t the only things to gain fame from the ITV2 show; beauty products can quickly become just as popular with watchers. With each season that passes, more and more focus is put on the villa’s glam room. Previously stocked with unlabelled products (in the early Love Island days), now the shelves are stocked with premium and bargain beauty offerings from big name brands.

We’re taking a trip down memory lane to look at some of the top make-up and skincare products that have hit it big on social media thanks to in-villa endorsement from Islanders. So from a £4 serum that went viral after 2022’s summer series to a lip gloss that’s been raved about time and time again, here are the beauty products we’ve seen trend over the years…

Fenty Beauty Gloss Bomb Universal Lip Luminizer, £18 here

Rumour has it this lip gloss has been loved by Islanders since it entered the villa in 2019. Fans include Love Island 2021 winnerMillie Courtand Anna Vakili from 2019’s cast, and so it’s no wonder it’s a sell-out success at Boots.

Millie once said of this gloss: “Me and the girls would literally go through a bottle of this a week. I’m not joking, we were obsessed with it, and I now use it literally every single day.”

Huda Nude Obsessions Eyeshadow Palette, £27 here

Last year, Islander Indiyah Polack – who is Boots’ new Love Island beauty ambassador – took a particular shining to this Huda palette. The “Love Island effect” hit fast and soon the product was all over TikTok. With nine powder shades in matte and shimmery finishes, we can see why it’s so popular.

Boots Glow Essence Serum, £4 here

Boots has only been stocking the villa for the past two years, but some of its own-brand products have quickly become almost as popular as long-standing glam room brands like Fenty and Makeup Revolution. This bargain serum was previously loved by Kaz Kamwi and Shannon Singh, and it’s ready to make some new Islander fans this year.

Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish, £24 here

This face wash proved popular last year and it’s set for big things this year too. The cult classic buy is pictured on the bathroom shelves of 2023’s villa, so we predict it’ll be a top pick for both the men and women.

We’ll stay tuned for more viral products from this year’s series!
