Bride and groom order £350 Domino’s Pizza for their wedding buffet

A bride and groom decided to do away with tradition at their wedding – and put in a £350 Domino's Pizza order instead.

Tom and Victoria Browne, from St Austell in Cornwall, opted for the feast, saying "we just don't do anything traditionally".

Victoria, 26, called up Domino's to find out what they could get for their budget, and the answer was quite a lot, Cornwall Live reports .

The mum-of-three said: “Most people know me and Tom just don’t do anything originally.

"I didn’t want traditional sandwiches or anything at the wedding, I wanted something that stood out.

“We actually kept joking saying ‘shall we have Domino's?’ but as it got closer and we didn’t have any food plans we started seriously considering it and I emailed Domino's asking the question.”

To her delight, the restaurant replied saying that it could cater their wedding, but that catering a wedding would be a first for the local branch.

“I was so paranoid about whether they were actually going to be able to do it that I went in the day before and said ‘are you are all aware of my order for tomorrow?’” she said.

On the big day itself, Victoria and her 29-year-old husband said that staff came “strolling in and shocked everybody.”

They said the food was delivered "piping hot" as staff laid out the whopping 30 large pizza boxes, 20 garlic breads, 20 boxes of chicken strips and 20 boxes of wedges accompanied with copious amounts of the obligatory garlic and herb dip.

She said: “They were pretty good. It all came in piping hot and the staff were quite happy to stand and have a photo with me.

"People are still gob smacked with it, people think that as a buffet you have to have like sandwiches and stuff and I don’t really like pasties and I’m not picking them because everyone else likes them.”

The couple said that when they first told people about their plans, that guests were a little sceptical. Victoria said that friends and family were certain in the run up to the wedding that she was just "winding them up".

She says that even her hairdresser on the day was still questioning whether they were actually going to be offering pizza in place of a traditional wedding breakfast.

But the couple said that all doubt was quickly withdrawn when the smell of fresh pizza and garlic bread filled their wedding venue.

The bride said that people turned to praising the couple throughout the day for their unique decision and there wasn't a displeased guest in sight.

"I was surprised at the amount they delivered, I thought 'we're going to have to take this home and have it for a couple of weeks'," she said.

"We would have ended up having to bin it which would have been devastating for me.

“I would normally order it at least once a week and I definitely wont be for a little bit. I don’t want to see anymore pizzas for a while.”
