Britains richest gypsy shows off £9m yacht with epic James Bond-style jetpack

"Britain's richest gypsy" Alfie Best revealed his epic £9million superyacht which features a James Bond-style jetpack.

The 52-year-old bought his 90ft yacht in order to visit Mediterranean hotspots on water.

Alfie's used to living the high life – and his latest purchase can definitely keep him entertained.

The vessel, known as Wyldecrest, is an exclusive Sunseeker 90 Ocean which boasts a watersports speedboat and jetski.

Both are found in the yacht's own submersible dock.

On board there's a luxury accommodation for eight guests with a lounge and swim platform at water level.

The bathroom is kitted out with a window which looks out to sea from the shower.

An outdoor seating area is super relaxing as it gives guests an option to dine to the sound of waves.

But Alfie's favourite gadget is a James Bond-style water-driven jetpack which allows him to fly above the waves.

The billionaire says the yacht and crew can be chartered out for an eye-watering £80,000 a week.

He said: "I've flown my own plane and have my own helicopter and there were phenomenal experiences.

"But having a yacht is 10 times better. We really have gone the extra mile with this yacht.

"I've set it up with brand-new jet skis, brand new Seabobs [water scooters], a water jet pack, an inflatable pool and an extendable platform.

"I'll enjoy all the onboard perks, but particularly the jet pack. That's a whole new experience even for me – maybe a trip in space is next on my list."

He recently spent two weeks touring with his son Alfie Junior which allowed them to "talk about things they don't normally talk about".

Alfie owns a supercar fleet which includes two Bugattis, worth nearly £5m, and a £4.2m Airbus helicopter designed by Aston Martin.

The dad-of-two also has a £7.5m home in Surrey and a £4m property in London's Knightsbridge, as well as a 50% share in an £8m jet plane.

He said: "I come from a background that's a little bit superstitious. So everything is for sale. I believe we're here to maintain things, and pass them on to everybody else to enjoy in life. It should be a circle."

Alfie grew up in a caravan in Lutterworth, Leicestershire.

He added: "My mum and dad were hard working people. My dad's my idol – he's 77 years old and still works seven days a week, doing manual jobs."

The dad puts his success down to a "certain amount of luck", as well as "hard work, sheer grit, blood, blisters and tears".

Alfie operates Wyldecrest through Newcastle-based superyacht specialist West Nautical which also manages the superyacht's charter and day-to-day running.
