A cleaning-obsessed blogger has shared her genius hack for keeping shower doors soap-scum free for less than £1.
Rebecca Dillon, who runs the blog Soap Deli News , created a spray which can clear cloudy glass shower doors easily and cheaply.
The beauty and lifestyle blogger, who began blogging to share her love of homemade soaps, bath and body products, shared the homemade cleaner to help others achieve a “clean, fresh shower.”
Rebecca wrote: “This no scrub, homemade shower cleaner recipe with Dawn and vinegar is a snap to make.

“it’s also super effective at ridding your sower of hard water stains and soap scum with almost no effort on your part!”
She added: “Scented with natural essential oils, this heavy duty bathroom cleaner also tackles germ causing bacteria and leaves behind nothing but a clean, fresh shower.”
Rebecca also says that the cleaner can be used on hard water stains in the sink or toilet.
Citing that she found the original idea for an equal parts Dawn (that’s Fairy liquid in the UK) and vinegar at the blog Picklee Rebecca shared her updated version.
She said: “I filled my empty [spray] bottle of Method Bathroom Cleaner 2/3 full with white vinegar and 1/3 full with regular Dawn.”
Dawn is a brand of dish soap made by Proctor & Gamble – most UK cleaning sites agree that the closest thing to Dawn in the UK is Fairy liquid.
Rebecca continued: “I then added some essential oils for fragrance and their antibacterial, anti fungal, and antiviral properties.
“I used equal parts of lavender, peppermint and eucalyptus oils and a smaller part of tea tree oil.”
She adds: “For extra gross, grimy surfaces change the ratio of the Dawn and white vinegar to 50 per cent each.”
She recommends using 280ml of Fairy liquid, 510 ml of white vinegar and 3ml of essential oils.
Once you have made the mixture, Rebecca says to shake the bottle, spray it onto the shower walls, glass and tub and allow the mixture to set for 30 minutes.
Then, wipe it off with a damp sponge and rinse the area clean.
One fan in the comments said: “Thanks for the link! My shower stayed cleaner, longer after using this spray. yay!”

Another said: “This works perfectly, and better than those expensive name brand products.
‘Couldn’t believe it.”
The cost of 280ml of Fairy works out at around 25p while white vinegar costs £1.10 for 568ml with prices based on those at Waitrose.
This makes the basic mixture around £1.30 per batch.
Adding essential oils will cost you a little more up-front, Eucalyptus is £1.89 for 10ml on Amazon, Tea Tree £2.09, peppermint £5.70 and lavender £3.95, but as you only need a few drops of each the bottles should last a long time.
