Commonwealth Bank services down temporarily

Commonwealth Bank's social media pages were bombarded with frustrated comments on Friday evening, as many Australians were unable to use their web banking services or physical bank cards.

"This is just embarrassing I'm sitting out the front of the supermarket waiting for the phone or app.. I can't feed my kids because I'm trying to and can't transfer MY MONEY FROM MY ACCOUNT.. Get it together," wrote one commenter on the bank's Facebook page.

Commonwealth Bank has been contacted for comment – but it had begun replying to complaints on Twitter just after 7pm, saying "We will investigate and update you soon."
