Doctor explains why you shouldn’t hold in wind – it could give you fart breath

A NHS doctor has revealed a revolting truth of what would happen when you hold your fart – and said you should stop doing it right now.

GP Dr Faraz explained the natural body mechanism happens to everyone with no exceptions.

Explaining on TikTok, the medical expert says: "Don't hold in your farts. The average person farts 20 times a day.

"Gas forms naturally in your stomach as a waste product of digestion.

"It gets mixed with air that you swallow when you eat and drink."

He said holding the fart inside the body could cause "heartburn, bloating, and pain".

But on top of these, it could also affect people around you.

"The gas could come out as a smelly burp or make your breath stink," he adds.

"Imagine doing a burp that smells like a fart."

One viewer tried to clarify, asking: "Do women genuinely fart?"

Another joked: "That's where s****y ideas come from."

This came after a dentist shared details on how they find out if you have had too much oral sex.

The expert said dentists could understand it by checking the roof of your mouth cavity.

Another dentist pointed out the amount of toothpaste we have wasted every time we brush our teeth.

Dr Jye-teh Gao said people usually get deceived by the toothpaste advertisement and fill the toothbrush with the paste.

But he explained that a pea-size of toothpaste is already enough for adults and children older than three years old.

And for children under three years old, a smear of toothpaste would do just fine.
