There was taffeta and tulle, silk and satin, velvet, lace, a smattering of sequins and, of course, a rainbow of colours.

But what stood out most about the glorious gowns at this year’s BAFTA awards was the diversity of necklines. 

From Bond actress Lashana Lynch in her asymmetrical Prada gown to Salma Hayek’s velvet Gucci number, with its nod to the regal fashions of the 1700s, or Strictly star AJ Odudu’s showstopper with strategically placed feathered beading, no celebrity decolletage was dressed the same.
