I freeze sandwiches for my kids – trolls are disgusted but its a game changer

A busy mum shared her quick and easy meal prep hack to make lunches for her five children.

Samantha Lee Woods spends only 20 minutes in the kitchen preparing a whopping 50 sandwiches for her kids using frozen bread.

Calling it a "game changer", the parent says it's way better than packing sandwiches every morning.

To show how she handles the mammoth task, she takes out three and a half loaves of bread from the freezer and gets all the ingredients ready.

"So this is how I make a fortnight's worth of sandwiches ahead of time for my children's lunch boxes," Samantha explained.

"I freeze them and they always defrost beautifully, as if they were made from fresh bread.

"And my children have never complained once.

"I lay it all out, I know exactly how many sandwiches I need for the fortnight for each child."

The mum assures her viewers that sandwiches are not the only item in her kids' lunch boxes.

She also adds a main meal menu item.

With the help of a handy note in her pantry, Samantha knows how many vegemite sandwiches and how many peanut butter sandwiches she needs to make for each child.

She added: "It may take me about 20 minutes to do this but it saves me so much time and so much money when it comes to packing their lunch boxes on a daily basis.

"Before I started doing this way, I would always find that I needed to make sandwiches and I never had fresh enough bread, then I would have to go to the shops to get the bread.

"It was just a real hassle."

But some parents disagreed with Samantha and said they'd rather spend five minutes in the morning to make a fresh sandwich.

One wrote: "Do whatever works for you. I personally prefer fresh bread for sandwiches."

Another shared: "My mum used to do the same thing when I was a kid, it tastes horrible and I used to chuck it in the bin at school."

Others praised Samantha for the idea to cut down the time and effort on chores.

"Great idea and when your time is poor, it's a bonus!" a person added.
