Molly-Mae Hague was in Venice for a brief trip but received some backlash after she complained about the the "grim" food she ate while in the Italian city.

After sharing several pictures on Instagram wearing incredibly stylish outfits, Molly-Mae, 21, then shared a snap of an ice cream on her Stories complaining about how unimpressed she was.

The influencer, who met her boyfriend Tommy Fury on Love Island 2019, had posted some stunning shots of her holiday location including a look at the picturesque river.

Molly-Mae had jetted off to Italy on her third summer holiday with her hairdresser and pal Jay Birmingham earlier in the week.

They kickstarted their holiday off with a water taxi, before the Pretty Little Thing ambassador posed in the golden hour sunlight with her hair tied up in a plaited ponytail.

"Nonstop," Molly-Mae wrote as she posed with her phone in hand and an pair of black trousers and shiny black PVC style puffer coat.

The fashion star then swapped her hair for a long waved style that reached down to her waist, perfectly coiffed by Jay.

"Fallen in love with Venice," the 21 year old wrote, as she donned a white bodysuit, a cream shirt and brown dogtooth trousers.

Staring off into the distance in the perfect fashion blogger pose, Molly-Mae was positively glowing, no doubt wearing her own brand fake tan for her bronzed look.

In another fashionable snap, Molly went bare-legged wearing a cream pair of cycling shorts, a bodysuit and an oversized grey suit jacket.

To top off her look she added a pair of Prada's £1,400 black leather stomper boots, and added in the caption: "My love for these boots will never end…."

Finishing off her trip Molly-Mae went for an all camel coloured outfit of loose jumper and fitted trousers, accessorising with a pair of chic black sunglasses and a Louis Vuitton handbag.

But away from her "love" for the city, Molly-Mae seemed disappointed with what Venice had to offer in terms of food.

Pointing out that the views were amazing she shared her opinion alongside a snap of a gelato: "I absolutely loved Venice but one thing I will say about Italy in general… The food is actually shocking.

"So controversial I know but I’ve been a lot of times now to different parts and I’ve tried a lot of different restaurants and I’m always so disappointed.

"It’s meant to be the home of pizza and pasta and I really can’t see how! Strange. Even this ice cream was grim."

She confessed later that she'd received a fair bit of backlash for her honest review, and apologised but said she was remaining firm.

"My DMs are going wild with this Italy food thing," she began

"Sorry if I've offended anyone it's just my experience and everyone's like: "You've only tried the touristy restaurants", and no, I've actually tried all different kinds – like rural restaurants."

The influencer continued: "I was recommended to go to all these traditional Italian restaurants that are meant to serve the best pizza and pasta and again I just wasn't impressed.

"And it's not me being ungrateful, I've had the best time it's just my experience with the food."
