John Benjamin Hickey hopes unbelievably great dad Andy Cohen has more kids

John Benjamin Hickey would love nothing more than to see his longtime pal Andy Cohen have more children.

“I certainly hope he will because he is such an unbelievably great dad,” Hickey, 58, told Page Six. “To watch him walk his kid to school every day, to see what that kid does to Andy and what Andy does to that kid, it’s really a joy to behold.”

The Bravo macher, 53, announced in December 2018 that he was going to become a father with the help of a surrogate. His son, Benjamin, was born the following February.

Cohen recently discussed the possibility of having more kids while appearing on “Real Housewives of Orange County” star Heather Dubrow’s podcast.

When asked about whether he would be open to having another baby, the TV host said he “would like to” but noted that the process would need to happen “ASAP.”

Describing himself as an “old dad,” Cohen said he wants to grow his family of two so that his son could have “stability and people around for him.”

He also explained that searching for a suitable egg donor was “frankly the hardest part of this entire process,” noting that he initially sought a Jewish donor before deciding he just wanted to find a “healthy” match.

Hickey couldn’t help but laugh while reflecting on his nearly 30-year friendship with Cohen.

“[He was] one of my only friends when we were really young where I would say, ‘Well, I don’t have to worry about you becoming a celebrity,’ and then I wake up one day…” the “In Treatment” star quipped.

That said, Hickey is not surprised that Cohen has become a media sensation “because of his extraordinary star wattage.”

Still, the actor said, “He doesn’t lead with that. He’s always been Andy. So the fact that he’s one of the biggest producers on TV right now, you would never know it from hanging out with him.”
