  • She has since gotten help from Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) to help her deal with her father’s death and says her sobriety is “the biggest accomplishment I’ve ever had.”

Congratulations are in order for Lala Kent!

The 29-year-old Vanderpump Rules star is celebrating one year of sobriety, which she opened up about in an Instagram post this afternoon.

Lala captioned the photo, Today, I am 1 year sober. This is the biggest accomplishment I’ve ever had in my life and the one I am most proud of. The moments I have had in the past year have been a blessing that I have been present for. I didn’t have that before. Today, I will celebrate my 1 year birthday because it’s exciting. It is also humbling. Because today, and every day after that, I will fight for it. But I wont give it up for anything ♥️”

Plenty of fans flooded the comments with support, celebrating Lala’s honesty and even sharing their own stories of alcoholism. One fan commented, “Congrats Lala! Almost 90 days for me….by far the best decision I’ve ever made.” Another said, “5 months sober for me❤️. Loving everyday of this life. Congrats Lala💋”

Lala’s post comes only seven months after the reality star first opened up about her alcoholism in a series of Instagram stories.

“Five months ago, I came to the realization that I am an alcoholic, and I am now a friend of Bill W,” Lala said. (Bill W. was the cofounder of Alcoholics Anonymous.)

The reality star then went on to talk about the loss of her father Kent Burningham last April, which played a major role in her drinking problems, according to her Cosmopolitan interview. “I felt like I was falling into a pattern. But I am actually, for real now, completely sober,” she told Cosmo.

When she talked to fans this past March she thanked AA for allowing her to “sit down and remember my dad in a clear frame of mind, and remember what he brought to my life, what he meant to me, what he taught me.”
