Logan Paul got duped out of $3.5 million after buying what he believed to be an unopened set of first edition Pokémon cards. In a video posted on his YouTube channel, Paul admitted that he fell victim to a scam and that the cards he bought turned out to be something completely unexpected.

YouTube couldn’t stop talking about the 11 authenticated base set Pokémon boxes that the YouTuber turned boxer had dropped millions on. It was considered the largest amount that anybody had ever spent on collectible cards.

Paul is no stranger to dropping millions of dollars Pokémon cards, and in June he wore a $150,000 Charizard card around his neck into the boxing ring. However, after Paul dropped the money and began to tease his new purchase, speculation among Pokémon card collectors began to mount that the boxer had fallen victim to a scam.

Paul purchased the box from Bolillo Lajan San, one of the biggest sports card collectors in the world, for a staggering $3.5 million. Lajan San, who is now a friend of Paul, had previously purchased the set for $2.7 million.

Now, in his latest vlog, Paul has finally confirmed that someone had scammed him. The two traveled to Chicago to meet with members of the Baseball Card Exchange, who said they would be able to authenticate the purchase.

While Lajan San insisted the cards were real, as the collector opens the box, the group becomes visibly disappointed when the packaging appears to have been tampered with. They wince as they open the boxes revealing G.I. Joe cards and not the Pokémon cards they had expected.

“I’m a super positive person, bro, and I’ll always be the one to look at the bright side, and I’m trying, but this is very hard,” Paul admitted in a YouTube video.

One of the card inspectors said claimed that it was the “biggest fraud in the entire history of Pokémon.”

Although Paul purchased a fake box of cards, it wasn’t all bad. TMZ is reporting that the Impaulsive host had his $3.5 million refunded by his vendor, Lajan San.

“We will see how quickly I am made whole from the sellers who brought it to me already authenticated in the coming days, or if it turns into a drawn-out scenario.” Lajan San.
