Man repulsed as he learns girlfriend of three years showers once every 2 weeks

A man revealed he discovered his girlfriend only showers once every two weeks.

The lad said he loves his partner, but her refusing to shower means he's sleeping on the couch to avoid the smell.

Taking to Reddit, the boyfriend claimed that in their three year relationship he's never noticed her lack of hygiene.

He said: "I love her, but I did NOT know what I was getting into. She doesn't shower frequently. At all.

"She showers at max once every other week. Before we moved in together I didn't notice any particular BAD smell.

"Occasionally she had BO which is human. I'm guessing she would take her occasional shower before seeing me?"

The bloke said after a few months he felt compelled to intervene as he couldn't sleep next to her in bed.

He continued: "After a few months of trying to live with it, I was fed up.

"I had been sleeping on the couch because the smell was so terrible. I sat her down and tried to have a serious conversation about it."

Although he approached the situation gently, his girlfriend reacted angrily to his suggestion and started crying.

Now the man asked the internet if he should have handled the conversation better as he feels "terrible".

One reader said: "I shower twice a day. I can't even imagine how dirty she is showering so infrequently."

Another added: "That's nasty. She should be showering at least every other day. Maybe not washing hair depending on the person but she should at least be washing her body every other day if not daily."

A third wrote: "Even most anti-chemical no shower people do once every 3-4 days. I feel nasty once I hit my 3rd day which occasionally happens because of toddlers. Two weeks is WAY too long."
