Maura Higgins’ Instagram grid is enough to give anyone wanderlust. But though it looks like the star has been jetting off to sunnier climes, she’s actually mainly been cheating a beachy look from the UK.

How, you ask? Using fake tan and some clever little hacks that make it look like she’s spent a week in Barbados, not London. Our favourite is her clever way to get freckles without spending time in the sun.

Maura takes a bobby pin (which we all have lying around somewhere) and dips the two-pronged end in the deep bronze eyeshadow shade from her new Inglot x Maura Paradise Wild Eyeshadow Palette, £20 here.

She then presses the end of the pin onto her cheeks and nose, and dabs the dots down a little to blend them. The finished result is sunkissed-looking freckles that could very well be natural.

The full makeup tutorial is posted on her Instagram grid, and was filmed to promote her newest Elements makeup collaboration with Inglot. The range features some other essentials for summer, including a Luminous Rose Cream Blusher, £11 here, and an Endless Glow Illuminator, £15 here – both of which she uses in the tutorial video.

Maura’s campaign shoot with the Irish brand might also just be the most glamorous thing we’ve seen all year. It was shot in the UK back in early April, and at the time Maura admitted they were very lucky with weather.

She was also bronzed to perfection with the help of layers of fake tan, and her hair was styled into waist-length waves with the help of some clip-in extensions.

Her hairstylist, Carl Bembridge, recently shared a close-up look at her hair on his Instagram page, where fans were quick to dish out praise on the look.

“Real life Pocahontas,” said one, while others simply stated: “WOW”.

Since shooting for Inglot, Maura has been busy with a new campaign, in collaboration with fashion brand Ego. For this one though, they took a trip to the Dubai deserts to shoot the content.
