Meghan Markle joined the Royal Family when she married the Queen’s grandson, Prince Harry at St George’s Chapel, Windsor in 2018. For the moment, they are known together as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex before they stop using their HRH titles in Spring 2020.

- Royal Family are ‘closer’ since Meghan Markle and Harry left
On Friday, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were pictured stepping off a commercial flight. The pair were previously slammed by some for preaching about saving the planet and then flying overseas by private jet.
The Duchess, who led the way off the plane with her husband following closely behind, looked casual and glamorous in a sustainable outfit and was full of smiles despite the local Canadian winds blowed her hair freely around her shoulders. But what does her’s and Harry’s body language reveal about the couple?
Body language expert, Judi James, shared her analysis exclusively with Express.co.uk, and said that since landing on Canadian soil the couple looks “relaxed and happy”.
She said: “Harry’s UK fans will be relieved and delighted to see him looking so bouyant, happy and even excited here as he arrives back in Canada post-Megxit.
“His wide, eye-crinkling smile looks authentic and congruent and a million miles from the very haunted eye expression he was often seen sporting in the UK, and his casual dress style of trainers, jeans and baseball cap clearly suits his mood and current profile more than his often more formal look as a royal.”
The Duchess who stepped off the plane clutching a £1,070 Prada Duffle bag and a black leather case tucked in under her arm clearly meant business, according to the body language expert.
“The signals here suggest that it’s Meghan in the ‘taking care of business’ role now, walking ahead off the plane, clutching a businesslike folder and her phone in one hand and her hand luggage in the other,” Judi said.
“Harry follows, clutching a small case, but it looks very much as though his phone is buried deep in his jeans pocket, suggesting he’s happier to be less out of constant contact than his wife.”
In some of the pictures, Prince Harry is seen to be stretching an arm out to Meghan to keep her close but also guide her safely off the flight.
Judi said: “The way he stretches an arm out behind Meghan’s back shows he’s still very much in quietly caring and supporting mode though.
“Meghan might be struggling with her hair in the breeze but her smile also makes her look relaxed and happy here.”
The Canadian wind is freely blowing Meghan’s hair around her shoulders and in some of the pictures she is seen holding her hand up to guard her face, however, Judi suggested that this gesture is more “practical” and an attempt to hide her face from watching cameras.
“The hand to hair gesture looks more practical than a cut-off or desire to hide her face,” she said.
The series of pictures are the first ones to come about since the pair made the decision to “step back” from their “senior” royal duties, and relocate to their £10million Canadian hideaway while the couple set to work carving out new business ventures.

Judging by the smiles in the pictures as they walked along down the plane steps and onto the tarmac it seems their “business trip” in the States was a success.
It was reported that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex made their first public appearance at a luxury five-star hotel in Miami earlier this week – where Prince Harry delivered a speech at the private JPMorgan event among the rich and famous including the likes of Jennifer Lopez and A.Rod – since making a bid to become financially independent from the Royal Family.
Speaking at private events is not unheard of for royals, but generally, it is only to benefit charities.
When Harry took the floor to deliver his speech at the private event in Miami, he got surprisingly personal, according to reports.
Standing before a crowd of investment bankers and celebrities—including J.Lo and Alex Rodriguez “A.Rod”, who were seated at the same table as Harry and Meghan—the Duke of Sussex said that “while it has been very difficult on him and Meghan, he does not regret their decision to step down as senior royals, because he wants to protect his family,” a source told Page Six.
The palace has not commented on whether Meghan and Harry were paid for their JPMorgan appearance, however, it is believed that the royal couple got paid upwards of £1million to speak at the event.
Since announcing their unprecedented exit from royal life on January 8, they remain in a “transition,” during which their HRH (His/Her Royal Highness) titles remain in place.
However, in the Spring those titles are expected to be used far less, if at all—presumably granting the couple even more freedom to be “financially independent” as they said in their announcement.
Their recent move to Canada was part of Harry’s previously shared wish for a “more peaceful life.”
They are also planning to spend time in Meghan’s hometown of Los Angeles this summer and are set to head to London for the Commonwealth Service with Queen Elizabeth and the rest of the Royal Family on March 9.
However, it is unconfirmed whether Meghan Markle will attend the royal gathering, according to reports.
