The presence of Meghan Markle at this weekend's US Open final is said to be concerning Serena Williams' coaching team.
The American tennis legend, 37, is looking to equal Margaret Court's 24 Grand Slam triumphs when she takes on Bianca Andreescu in New York.
She will have the royal seal of approval at the Arthur Ashe Stadium with her close friend flying over to support her from the stands.
But the last time the Duchess of Sussex cheered on the star the icon crumbled in the Wimbledon final to Simona Halep.
The New York Posts ’ celebrity gossip site Page Six claim they have spoken to a member of the Williams’ camp and they are worried about the distraction.
“Serena asked her coach about Meghan coming when she won last night and everyone is worried, as tennis players are very superstitious, and Serena lost when Meghan came to watch her at Wimbledon,” a source told them.
“[Williams’ coach] Patrick keeps telling her, ‘Focus focus focus.’ The aim is getting her to win her 24th Grand Slam.”
Another source told them: “She’s coming after the scandal over people taking photos of her at Wimbledon this summer and will come with at least two police protection officers.
"But they won’t be able to stop gawkers from taking photos.”
Buckingham Palace declined to comment.
Meghan is flying out to the States but Kate Hopkins' comments won't have escaped her attention.
The controversial former reality star gave an interview to an Australian TV show.
But she has been slammed for the 'vile' suggestions she made in the latest episode of Channel 9's 60 Minutes, which according to the description focuses on 'where it all went wrong for Meghan'.
She says: "There she is in her one shoulder dress, being glowing. Because all she does is glow.
