Mother-of-two Nicole Roberts, 25, said she loved transforming the room
And Nicole, who shares her home transformations on Instagram to her 18,900 followers, then converted the plain white room into a stunning playroom decked with rainbow accessories and educational wall stickers to help her children learn.
The mother-of-two told money-saving community LatestDeals.co.uk: ‘This room was originally a garage but I knew before I moved in that I wasn’t keeping it as a garage as new builds lack storage and I needed the extra room for the kids’ toys and other bits.’
Nicole added how the DIY project only took a week and the family saved money thanks to her partner being an electrician.
Speaking about her theme, Nicole revealed how she wanted the room to be ‘bright and colourful’ which she could achieve through a rainbow theme.
She painted the room white using Dulex emulsion and spent £250 on neutral IKEA storage that she claims was ‘worth every penny’.
Adding colour to the room, Nicole used £20 rainbow sprinkle stickers from kiddysticks and recently painted the bottom half of the walls yellow to add warmth.
The next step was to paint the walls and add flooring before the decorating started
