New mum Emily Skye, 35, who is currently 25 weeks pregnant with her second child has shared a series of home exercise routines while holding her two-year-old daughter Mia Elise.

Emily’s home workout with Mia

10 x Opposite arm opposite leg lift (10 reps each side)

15 x Squats

10 x Two phase lunges (10 reps per leg)

‘My simple at home pregnancy workout with my girl. If you’re currently pregnant make sure your doctor clears you for exercise,’ Emily captioned the Instagram post.

She first completed a horizontal leg and arm extension exercise with Mia on her back followed by squats and finished with walking lunges while holding Mia.

‘Do three to six rounds depending on your fitness level and how you’re feeling. Take rests as needed,’ she said.

Breakfast: Egg, spinach and haloumi wrap

Lunch: Organic chicken breast and steamed vegetables with hemp seasoning, coconut teriyaki sauce and roasted sweet seaweed

Snack: Smoothie or berry yoghurt with an apple

Dinner: Beef, lime and coriander fajita bowl

Mother-of-four Anna Strode also regularly shares home workouts involving one or all of her children.

20 x standups

15 x triple pulse squat

15 x lunge pulse (both legs)

15 x glute bridge

The Melbourne mum, 34, said the ‘unpredictability of motherhood’ took a while to adjust to as everyday is different.

‘Some days I get a real workout in. With dumbbells and kettlebells and I sweat for 30 minutes uninterrupted. And then other days, I workout like this,’ Anna wrote on Instagram.

‘I find the best way to stay on track with fitness as a mother is to not let hiccups get you off track. You just need to think outside the square sometimes. Just because you can’t get your usual workout in, doesn’t mean you can’t get something done’.

Anna also revealed her fitness mantra is always ‘something is better than nothing’.

Anna’s day on a plate

Breakfast: Almond latte, two pieces of low carb grain toast with Vegemite and avocado

Morning Tea: Banana rice crackers with hommus

Lunch: Two eggs, avocado, lettuce leaves, roasted veggies (carrot, pumpkin, sweet potato) pepitas, olive oil

Snack: One banana

Dinner: Bowl of rice with spinach, spiced chicken, roast veggies (zucchini, carrot and onion), parsley and toasted onions

Both women hope to inspire and encourage other mums or mums-to-be to maintain their fitness at home.

The routines can also help teach children about fitness, health and the importance of exercising regularly.

The informative videos come at a time of crisis as gyms around Australia close and people are turning to home workouts.
